The application of any coating is done after having dealt with humidity problems, on a healthy surface, well cleaned and dusted, generally in 2 coats.

To ensure good performance of the coating over time, it must be compatible with the type of support (concrete, stone, brick, cellular concrete, etc.) and with the condition of the walls; there are some for new and old facades.

Classic coating or single-coat coating?

They are distinguished by their appearance, relief and color, but also by their composition (binder, sand, adjuvants, dyes, etc.) and their method of application.

With the arrival of spraying devices and innovative binders or adjuvants, new coatings have appeared alongside traditional coatings.

Classic coating

Based on hydraulic binders (setting occurs in contact with water), the coating is dosed and mixed on site.

It is applied in layers by machine, an undercoat and second coat with different finishes.

Please note, single coat does not mean only one coat to apply, it's just that there is only one product.

• Dosed at the factory, the coating is ready to mix.

• It is used directly without mixing.

• Its implementation is faster.

 

Good to know

To solidify a wall and protect it from cracks, there are renovation undercoats, reinforced with fiberglass, to be applied before the facade coating.

Whatever the technique, the total thickness to be applied must not exceed 20 mm.
